Explanation
As a more formal variation of the auxiliary verb だ, である can be combined with the particle も. The resulting structure, でもある, is used to say that something 'is also (B)'. Since も often introduces information that is surprising, でもある is frequently used to add an unexpected or contrasting fact about (A). For this reason, でもある is common in sentences with a structure like 'although it is (A), it is also (B)', or 'not only is it (A), but it is also (B)'.
You can use でもある after a noun or a な-Adjective.
- 彼は医者さんだし、プロのピアニストでもあるから、本当にすごいと思う。He's a doctor, and on top of that he is also a professional pianist, so I think he's truly amazing.
- この場所は公園でもあるけど、同時に避難場所でもある。This place is a park, but it is also an evacuation site.
- インスタント食品は便利だけれども、同時に不健康でもある。Although instant food is convenient, at the same time it is also unhealthy.
- この街は静かだけど、同時に不便でもある。While this town is quiet, it is also inconvenient.
