Explanation

いたす, often written as 致(いた)す, is a humble う-Verb for talking about the actions of oneself or those in one's in-group (like coworkers). Similar to お〜する, いたす is a humble way of saying 'to do'.

For verbs that end in する, you can simply swap する for いたす. For other verbs, the pattern is お/ご + the verb's ます-stem + いたす. お is used for native Japanese words, while ご is used for words of Chinese origin.

私(わたし)たちが準備(じゅんび)いたします。
We will do the preparations.
お皿(さら)はこちらへお下(さ)げいたします。
We will clear the plates for you.
受付(うけつけ)からご案内(あんない)いたします。
We will guide you from the reception desk.

Caution

Certain words that use the kanji 拝(はい) ('to worship', 'to revere') already carry a humble nuance, so they do not typically need お, ご, or いたす added to them.

先生(せんせい)の本(ほん)を拝読(はいどく)する。
I will read my professor's book. (With utmost respect)
社長(しゃちょう)のお話(はなし)を拝聴(はいちょう)する。
I will listen to the company president's speech. (With utmost respect)

Fun Fact

いたす expresses a slightly higher degree of humility than お〜する. Because of this, it is frequently heard in business contexts, such as from staff addressing customers or in advertisements.
